People

Director

Ben Fleetwood Smyth
Devoted to BAM, he draws all the ideas together and makes them happen. He’s a professional musician and has also discovered he’s surprisingly good at getting people to say yes.  He'd love you to sign up to our e-alert and show your support for our first Series in November.

Trustees

John Eidinow
A formidable barrister who specialises in trusts. What John doesn’t know about classical literature is not worth knowing, he’s a gentleman, a scholar and a great friend of BAM.

Alex Hall
A brilliant associate solicitor who moonlights as an organist, répétiteur, and singer: erudite, passionate about music, he’s as much an artist as a legal eagle.

William Parry
A superb accountant whose dedication to the championing of certain British musicians is unparalleled; droll, well-read, BAM’s number-crunching demi-god, and the first of us to say yes to BAM.

Patrons

Dr James MacMillan CBE

Libby Purves OBE

John Wilson

Creative Advisors (our best friends)

Hugh Brunt
Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the London Contemporary Orchestra. BAM’s partner for the first Series and contemporary music sage. Brilliant.

Hanh Doan
Teacher and Head of Music, a violinist, and our education expert.  She’s a fountain of knowledge and experience and loves harmony, a lot.

Benedict Morrison
A literary genius. Books, books, and more books. A wordsmith and man of letters.

Cas Park
Tall and elegant, Cas helps on PR, social media and funding. We love her and her ideas.

Miranda Pountney
Red-haired beauty with a sharp intellect.  Our greatest enthusiast, she keeps our ideas focussed and on target.

Gavin Plumley
Shrewd musicologist, superb musician, and serial blogger Gavin is a source of great musical understanding and experience.

Gulliver Ralston
Our very own full time church musician. He sings, plays, and conducts like a dream.

Alexandra Stevenson
A savvy arts buff who’s a great source of fundraising ideas, she also sings beautifully.

SAV London
Website designers and developers, creative advisors, and so much more. We are indebted to them and give our very heartfelt thanks and admiration.

Isabella Woods
She has delightfully engaged for many years with our Director on all things to do with music, philosophy, and the wider meaning of these things.
